What actually fails on the road
Amplifiers and speakers rarely fail on tour. Connectors do, cables do, and power supplies do. All three fail for the same reason: they are handled hundreds of times by people in a hurry, often in the dark. Specifying recessed connectors and made-to-length looms costs a fraction of the rig and removes most of the calls we get in July.
Salt air is a specification
A venue two hundred metres from the water lives in a different environment from one inland, and the equipment does not know it is supposed to last ten years there. Corrosion-resistant hardware, sealed enclosures and a proper cover regime are not luxuries on this coast. They are the difference between replacing a rig at ten years and replacing it at five.
